We are seeking experienced King Air B200/350 Firefighting Pilots (Air Attack) to support aerial firefighting operations and special mission aviation programs throughout the United States. This position serves as a critical member of our flight operations team and requires exceptional airmanship, sound judgment, technical proficiency, and a commitment to safe mission execution. 

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated aviation professional capable of operating independently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service. 

What You'll Do 

As a King Air Firefighting Pilot, you will support aerial firefighting and special mission aviation operations across multiple locations throughout the United States. 

  • Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for special mission operations utilizing modified King Air aircraft. 

  • Operate a King Air B200 in all weather conditions as a single pilot and, when qualified, a King Air 350 in single-pilot operations. 

  • Execute aerial operations in accordance with customer requirements, FAA regulations, and company procedures. 

  • Successfully complete recurrent training and checking requirements to Part 135 standards. 

  • Conduct functional check flights as required. 

  • Perform command pilot duties while coordinating with technical operators, mission crews, and other flight personnel. 

  • Ensure compliance with aircraft flight manuals, company policies, customer procedures, manufacturer requirements, and regulatory guidance. 

  • Support aircraft scheduling, fueling, safety management, and operational readiness activities. 

  • Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, briefings, and documentation. 

  • Represent Tenax professionally while maintaining strong relationships with customers, aviation personnel, and mission stakeholders. 

  • Support overall program success through safe, efficient, and effective mission execution. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of operational requirements. 

Basic Qualifications 

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess: 

  • FAA Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating. 

  • Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate. 

  • Beechcraft King Air 350 type rating (single-pilot privileges preferred). 

  • Minimum 3,000 hours total flight time. 

  • Minimum 1,200 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time, including at least 200 hours in the King Air category/class. 

  • Minimum 500 hours cross-country flight time. 

  • Minimum 50 hours instrument flight time and 75 hours actual or simulated instrument experience. 

  • Minimum 200 hours night PIC time. 

  • Minimum 25 hours in King Air B200/350 aircraft. 

  • Valid driver's license. 

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 

  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the Continental United States (CONUS). 

  • Ability to successfully complete required training, checking events, background reviews, and drug testing requirements. 

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

Desired Skills 

The following qualifications are preferred: 

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate. 

  • Extensive King Air B200 and/or King Air 350 operational experience. 

  • Familiarity with Pro Line 21 and Fusion avionics systems. 

  • Previous aerial firefighting or air attack flight experience. 

  • Current USDA/DOI Interagency Air Operations Card. 

  • At least 100 fixed-wing flight hours within the preceding 12 months. 

  • At least 10 hours in make and model within the preceding 12 months. 

  • Previous operational experience supporting fire containment, airborne intelligence, surveillance, or data collection missions. 

Schedule and Travel Requirements 

This position requires a flexible schedule driven by customer and mission requirements. 

  • Fire Season (approximately March through October): 12 days on / 8 days off. 

  • Off Season: 7 days on / 7 days off. 

  • Extensive CONUS travel required. 

  • Relocation is not required. 

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness to changing mission needs are essential. 

Work Environment 

This position may be performed in aircraft, airports, aviation facilities, customer locations, and field operating environments. 

Work may require: 

  • Extensive domestic travel. 

  • Work in varying weather conditions. 

  • Operation from remote or austere locations. 

  • Work outside normal business hours. 

  • Exposure to aircraft operations, machinery, noise, and changing environmental conditions. 

  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and aircraft operation.
