The Role
We are seeking an experienced Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic to support a Gulfstream GV aircraft operating in a high visibility, mission‑critical, government‑supported environment at Joint Base Andrews. The A&P Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining aircraft mission readiness through high‑quality maintenance execution, accurate documentation, and proactive troubleshooting, in accordance with FAA regulations, Army Regulation 95‑20, and program requirements.

The position may involve exposure to noise, weather conditions, and operational tempo consistent with active aviation maintenance. The A&P Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining aircraft mission readiness through high‑quality maintenance execution, accurate documentation, and proactive troubleshooting, in accordance with FAA regulations, Army Regulation 95‑20, and program requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Aircraft Maintenance & Mission Readiness
- Ensure assigned aircraft remain fully mission‑ready by safely performing launch, recovery, pre‑flight, post‑flight, servicing, towing, and ground handling operations.
- Perform high‑quality inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, functional testing, and repair of aircraft systems and components with limited supervision.
- Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul aircraft engines and systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, avionics, and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and service avionics and communications equipment, including testing and calibration of avionics, computer, and electronic systems.
- Maintain aircraft modification systems in accordance with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
- Utilize OEM maintenance manuals, technical data, and core aircraft knowledge to resolve discrepancies on‑ground whenever possible, minimizing downtime and off‑site repairs.
- Provide recommendations for resolution of maintenance, logistical, and operational issues.
- Accurately document all maintenance actions within the Tenax Aerospace work order system, including discrepancies, corrective actions, AD/SB compliance, final inspections, and work order closeouts.
- Maintain complete and audit‑ready maintenance records, including CMP digital updates, logbooks, 8130s, teardown reports, and return‑to‑service documentation.
- Ensure strict compliance with FAA regulations, Army Regulation 95‑20, Ground Operating Procedures (GOP), and contractual standards.
- Proactively support and engage in the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Consistently follow tool accountability and control procedures using TCMAX for tools, GSE, consumables, and parts.
- Track, coordinate, and ensure calibration of GSE and TMDE tooling in accordance with manufacturer and program requirements.
- Assist the Maintenance Lead with accurate inventory management, including issuance, receipt, returns, and core tracking for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Pack and process core returns and support Program Logistics with required documentation.
- Oversee and coordinate vendor technicians performing specialized inspections or repairs, both on‑site and off‑site.
- Interface professionally with government representatives regarding maintenance activities and use of local infrastructure.
- Own assigned tasks from initiation through completion or decision point.
- Contribute to overall program success by supporting customer needs, meeting aircraft availability goals, and executing duties efficiently and professionally.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Capable of lifting at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work extra hours when necessary.
- Possess current US Passport.
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
- Must be able to secure and maintain a secret level clearance
- Must be able to operate independently and contribute as a team member in safely maintaining contractual aircraft availability rates 365 days per year.
- Avionics/Electrical experience.
- Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Current secret level security clearance
- Familiarity with DCMA Instruction 8210-1c or Army Regulation 95-20
- Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field.
